13:00 Sunday Gundog Skills Workshop – Mixed Levels, Rotating Themes

This welcoming, ad hoc training group is perfect for retrievers, hunt-point-retrieve breeds and spaniels of a mixed skill level that are happy to work around other dogs.

You’ll be joining a mix of regular clients and new faces, all looking to build and maintain their dogs’ gundog skills in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. These sessions are booked individually, so there’s no need to commit to a block of dates but a package option is available that will give you a pass for 8 sessions at the price of £25 each offering a substantial discount.

Each week focuses on a core skills:

• 1st Sunday of the month – Retrieves

• 2nd Sunday of the month – Stop Whistle & Recall

• 3rd Sunday of the month – Steadiness

• 4th Sunday of the month – Hunting & Quartering.

Shot confidence: Dogs should be comfortable around shot, but we can support dogs who are still building confidence. Shot will not be introduced during a dog’s first session. If your dog hasn’t been exposed to shot before, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Session length: These sessions run for two hours, starting at 13:00. While you're welcome to stay for the full duration, there’s no pressure – the extended time allows for a calm training pace, with opportunities for dogs to settle, observe, and self-regulate between exercises.

Location: Usually held at Bitchet Green or Southborough, although the venue may occasionally change depending on the training plan or ground conditions and time of year. You'll be notified in advance if there's a change.

Optional GPS trackers are available for added peace of mind – just select this option when booking.

Please come prepared with a snack and a drink for yourself, along with anything your dog might need to stay comfortable and relaxed throughout the session.
